The founder of the Serbian medieval state Grand prince Stefan Nemanja built the Studenica monastery dedicated to the Presentation of the Holy Virgin in the 12th century. With combination of Ras and Byzantin styles, white marble and most beautiful frescoes it represents one of the biggest treasures of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Visit to the another important monastery Zica where King Stefan Nemanjić was crowned in 1217 as the first King of the Nemanjić Dynasty what made Serbia the sovereign country in the Christian world.
